2012 Sachsenring MotoGP Warm Up Result: Stoner Fastest Despite Lowside
Casey Stoner was fastest in a sunny and dry warm up at the Sachsenring, leading a Repsol Honda 1-2, his teammate Dani Pedrosa just a couple of hundredths behind. Stoner lost he last couple of minutes of the warm up due to a crash at Turn 3, the Australian lowsiding in the very slow Omega Kurve and walking away unharmed. Jorge Lorenzo leads the Yamaha armada behind the Repsol Hondas, with Cal Crutchlow in 4th and Ben Spies in 5th, with only Nicky Hayden on the Factory Ducati interposing himself between Spies and Andrea Dovizioso.
The weather is set to be hot and sunny until around 3pm, meaning the races should be run in dry weather. Given the lack of dry setup time the teams have had, there may be some gambling on tire choice and setup.
