Kristoffersson rules out DTM switch
International Superstars champion Johan Kristoffersson has ruled out a switch to the DTM next year, following his recent Audi test.
The 24-year-old Swede, who added the Superstars crown to his Scandinavian Touring Car and Carrera Cup titles, was one of a number of drivers to test old-spec Audi A4 machinery at Monteblanco last month.
Formula 3 racers Carlos Sainz Jr, Tom Blomqvist and Will Buller, plus sportscar drivers James Rossiter and Andrea Sonvico, were also among the drivers tested in Spain.
He said: “I thank Audi Sport for this great opportunity, although they were clear from the beginning: there is no space in 2013.
“It’s just been a valuable test to give young drivers like me a chance to display our skills, and a good occasion for Audi to spot new potential recruits for the future.”
Kristoffersson has declared his interest in defending his Superstars crown in 2013, but could also take in a Porsche-based programme after recently making the final of the Supercup Scholarship programme.
“I’m interested in lining-up again in Superstars, but I still haven’t finalised my 2013 commitments,” he added.
