NASCAR on FOX opens its 13th season with expanded coverage from Daytona, providing live programming across three FOX Sports Media Group networks – FOX Sports, FOX Deportes and SPEED.

The flag officially drops on FOX Sports’ 2013 Speedweeks coverage with the newly named SPRINT UNLIMITED AT DAYTONA, live and in prime time on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by live coverage of DAYTONA 500 QUALIFYING, Sunday, Feb. 17 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Coverage of the DAYTONA 500 on FOX begins Sunday, Feb. 24 with FUSION EVOLUTION PRESENTED BY FORD, a 30-minute special at 11:30 a.m. ET, followed by the traditional one-hour NASCAR on FOX pre-race program, live at noon ET from the Hollywood Hotel, FOX Sports’ state-of-the-art mobile studio located in the Daytona International Speedway infield.  Host Chris Myers is joined by two-time Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip and his brother, NASCAR Hall of Fame driver and three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Darrell Waltrip. At 1:00 p.m. ET, Darrell joins NASCAR on FOX race announcer Mike Joy and Daytona 500-winning crew chief Larry McReynolds in calling the 55th running of the “Great American Race.”

“We’re extremely excited to begin the 2013 season with a renewed, long-term commitment to NASCAR,” said FSMG Co-President and CEO Eric Shanks.  “NASCAR has been an important part of the FOX Sports family for many years, and will be for many years to come.  In addition to the award-winning coverage fans have grown to expect from FOX Sports and SPEED, we’re excited to present NASCAR Sprint Cup racing in Spanish on FOX Deportes, another first in what has been more than a decade of firsts.”

This season, FOX Deportes, the No. 1 sports network in Spanish, offers coverage of 15 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, seven live, including the DAYTONA 500.  In addition, FOX Deportes Speedweeks coverage also includes the SPRINT UNLIMITED and DAYTONA 500 qualifying as part of a deal reached last summer.  Jorge Koechlin and Tony Rivera call the action on-track, while FOX Deportes produces original NASCAR-related programs specifically for its Latino fan base.  This series is complemented by daily NASCAR news segments on Central FOX, the network’s signature news, highlights and information program and No. 1 sports news program on Spanish cable.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to deliver the NASCAR experience and culture to US Latinos and there is no better way to start our partnership than with coverage of the Daytona 500,” said Vincent Cordero, EVP and General Manager of FOX Deportes.

SPEED opens its coverage from Daytona on Feb. 14 with a NASCAR Race Hub special from Daytona Speedweeks Media Day. In addition to covering practice and qualifying sessions, SPEED is once again home to the BUDWEISER DUEL and the NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES opener from Daytona.
