2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Headed for New York [2013 New York Auto Show]

Land Rover has announced that it will debut the latest Range Rover Sport SUV at the 2013 New York auto show. The new Sport arrives hot on the heels of Land Rover’s all-new 2013 Range Rover, and as before, promises to be a lower, trimmer, uh, sportier take on the classic Range Rover formula.

It isn’t presently clear how closely related the new Sport will be to the new, non-Sport Range Rover, whose aluminum body is claimed to be significantly lighter than its predecessor’s. (The outgoing Range Rover Sport essentially was a shortened Land Rover LR4 with sexier sheetmetal.) Besides announcing the new Sport’s New York reveal, Land Rover also released a preview video for the SUV that shows a very Range Rover–like headlight.
